On arrival we will provide you with the WIFI password. If you leave the property, you may need to login again. Angel House guests have free, unlimited hi-speed fibre optic WIFI. At times however, this is may be affected by the weather. When it is raining, or there is a storm in the area, the signal may drop out. We always try to resolve the issue quickly, but sometimes we have to wait for the internet provider to fix the problem. If this occurs, we ask you to be patient.

Rooms

We change guest sheets and towels every 3 days (unless you specify otherwise). If you would like towels changed daily, please place them on the shower floor. All guest rooms have international and Australian power points. We also provide plug converters. These are available in the basket in your room along with some mosquito repellent, tissues and an emergency torch. The bale is also fitted with many universal power-points complete with USB ports. These will charge your phones, computers and other electronic devises.

Your room contains a safe with full instructions. If you have a problem opening or locking your safe, please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance. We are happy to help.

Each room has a mini fridge, tea & coffee making facilities and filtered drinking water. Angel House guests are provided with unlimited, free, filtered drinking water.

There is a guest kitchen on the bale with gas stove, kitchen sink and assorted equipment is supplied for your use. You can make yourself a drink, meal or snack at any time with free tea and coffee provided for guests. The full fridge is stocked with assorted drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic for sale. We have a large range of local and imported beers, other alcoholic drinks along with soft drinks and fluid replacement drinks available for purchase.

You may notice the electric mosquito lamps around each guest room and on the bale. These electric lamps reduce the numbers of mosquitos and do not harm the environment. To keep mosquitos out of your bedroom we suggest you close your bedroom doors at dusk and keep them closed for the duration of sunset. If you miss this time and have your doors open, don’t worry, the mosquitoes tend to disappear an hour after sunset. By following these simple steps, you can sleep easy knowing you should not have mosquitoes in your room.

If you run out of hot water, please let us know! Bottled gas is used to heat water so it is possible that your bottle has run out but it is easily, and quickly, replaced!

Please note that any breakages or missing room items will be charged to your bill. After final inspection, you can to pay your room and any other additional charges incurred.

Air Conditioning

Electricity in Bali can be unstable, and at peak times you may find the power insufficient for all your appliances. The most noticeable times are 11am-6pm daily if you are using the  air conditioner. If your air conditioning is on during these times, you will notice the power dipping and a lower output; your air conditioning will feel hot rather than cold and will take much longer to cool your room. A number of factors may contribute to this including humidity, how hot it is, unstable electricity, increased use of electricity (mostly A/C use) and positioning of the sun.

We kindly request that you switch OFF AC when leaving your room and set the temperature to a cool and dry 24*C. It is impossible to make your room 18*C when it is very hot and humid. Guests find that 24*C is a perfect temperature to keep your room cool and dry.  If you are having trouble with the AC or with your fan, please contact staff immediately and we will endeavour to get it fixed as fast as possible.

Gecko and Tokay

Angel House is an Eco villa. We practice permaculture and organic gardening.

Because we do not use chemicals, there are a variety of native critters around the house and garden. The Tokay (gecko) is the common house Gecko, native to Asia and Bali. They are most commonly seen and heard, especially at sunset and early evening. They do not fall on you as they have special adhesive hairs on their feet and use their tails for balance . Geckos use their tails to stop themselves from falling, and to land safely if they do. The Tokay is a large gecko, reaching up to 35 centimetres in length. It is an endangered species throughout Asia due to poaching. The Tokay has a very recognizable croak, is fairly loud and sounds similar to their name calling “tok-kay”. They may also be heard running around the roof and their sound may be mistaken for other animal sounds. The common house geckos are much smaller in size, growing to a maximum of 10 cm. They are similar in every other way to their larger counterparts, the Tokay. Both types of gecko are harmless and not dangerous. If they are touched or distressed by humans, they may bite or, they can lose their tail as a defence mechanism. Please do not touch, catch or chase the geckos in your room. We cannot remove them as they are native to Bali, are considered good luck, and are found in all houses and hotels. The Balinese believe geckos will take your ‘prayers’ direct to the Gods. Enjoy watching them chase each other around the roof and catching insects. Geckos are nature’s champion climbers. With remarkable ease, they can scamper across ceilings and up smooth vertical surfaces, and they do so at speed. A vertically running gecko can cover 15 times the length of its body in a single second.
